We are delighted to present an exclusive lunch briefing hosted by British Ambassador to Belgium Alison Rose featuring the Belgian Minister of Budget, Sophie Wilmès as the keynote speaker.
During this exclusive lunch briefing, part of our ‘Ambassador Hosts’ series, the Belgian Minister of Budget, Sophie Wilmès, will discuss the future priorities in reaching a balanced budget and how businesses can support this process. The Minister will also provide an insight into how Belgium accounts for uncertainty in the wake of Brexit, as well as other modern day political and security uncertainties.
After her speech, Minister Wilmès will take questions from the audience in a debate moderated by Ambassador Rose.

From 2006, Minister Wilmès has been the First Alderman of Rhode-Saint-Genèse, she is in charge of their finances, including the budget, the Fr. School, the local businesses and the Communication. Minister Wilmès is also Head of UF Political group at the Provincial Council. As an elected individual who is also a member of the local police council and represents the interests of the commune as a director at Finilek. Minister Wilmès is also very active inside the MR at a local level as well as on a larger scale (President of the MR for the communes surrounding Brussels). Previously, Minister Wilmès was a local elected councillor in Uccle in 2000, she had a few mandates in various organisations both locally and regionally in subjects as diverse as: youth, children, employment, cable distribution as well as electricity and gas.
