As the UK prepares to leave the European Union, our European counterparts prepare for the new relationship ahead. We are inviting permanent representatives from various EU member states to give briefings on their views and position on Brexit. 

The third briefing of this series will be given by Counsellor Émer Deane, Brexit Counsellor from the Irish Permanent Representation to the European Union.

This event will begin with a briefing over breakfast, followed by a question and answer session and end with a networking session. 

This event is open to full members and patron members only and spaces are limited. Only one representative per company permitted due to limited space.


Counsellor | Irish Permanent Representation to the EU

Émer is the Director of the Brexit team in Ireland’s Permanent Representation to the EU. She has been in Brussels since 2015 and was responsible previously for Ireland’s relations with the EU Institutions, influencing to promote Ireland’s interests and values as well as policy and opportunity tracking for Ireland in the European Parliament and European Commission. Prior to that, she spent three years working on Northern Ireland matters notably as a senior member of Ireland’s negotiating team at the Stormont House Talks in Belfast in 2014. Émer has over 20 years’ experience in political and economic aspects of foreign affairs, including parliamentary relations, diplomatic and diaspora policy. She has served in Dublin, London, and as Ireland’s Consul General in San Francisco.

This event is held under the Chatham House Rule.
