As part of the European Commission's Strategy for the EU Digital Single Market as well as the Better Regulation Agenda, the Commission is strongly committed to its proposal on modernising the VAT for cross-border e-commerce.

During this Task Force Briefing co-hosted by the Financial Markets and the Single Market Task Force, Ludwig De Winter, Head of sector, Unit C1 – Value Added Tax, DG TAXUD, will share his thoughts on the modernization of the E-commerce trade for VAT purposes.
In his presentation Mr De Winter will cover the e-commerce package within the new VAT regulation, discussing the proposal for a VAT directive, a VAT implementing regulation and a regulation on administrative cooperation.
