Since taking over the lead on the copyright reform from Therese Comodini Cachia, Axel Voss has distanced himself from her efforts and reverted to supporting the Commission’s proposals. This includes the contested articles on “censorship machines” for file uploads, an extra copyright for news sites and the very limited scope of a proposed text and data mining exception. The JURI committee is scheduled to vote on the amendments to report in January. Axel Voss will lead us through the report at this evening briefing.
