At this Competition and Trade task force briefing, Amélie Giesemann, Adviser of the EPP Group in the INTA Committee will discuss the committee’s trade priorities.

Adviser of the EPP Group in the INTA Committee | European parliament

Since March 2016, Amelie Giesemann has been the Adviser of the European People’s Party (EPP) Group in the Committee on International Trade (INTA) in the European Parliament. Her responsibilities include conflict minerals, dual-use, UK/Brexit, digital trade, sustainable development as well as a several countries/regions including Chile, Central Asia and parts of the Eastern Partnership, ASEAN and Africa. She is also an adviser on the Parliament’s Delegations to the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly, Central America, Andean Community, Mercosur, Mexico and Chile. Previously, Amelie had been working for more than five years as the legal advisor to the EPP Coordinator of the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee (IMCO), MEP Andreas Schwab, on a wide variety of Single Market issues. Amelie is a lawyer by profession. She holds a law degree from the University of Cologne and a Master’s degree in European and International Law from the University of Toulouse. Prior to taking up her duties at the European Parliament, she gained relevant work experience in France, Belgium and the United States.
