Anneleen Van Bossuyt MEP, Chair of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO), will present the IMCO Committee's priorities, halfway through their mandate.
The IMCO Committee is responsible for the coordination of national legislation in the sphere of internal market and for the protection of consumers' economic interests.

Anneleen Van Bossuyt is the chair of the European Parliament’s Committee for Internal Market and Consumer Protection since June 2017. She has also served as a member of the Committee for Industry, Research and Energy. As a member of the European Parliament, Mrs Van Bossuyt focuses on better regulation, encouraging entrepreneurship, the digital single market, supporting innovation and energy policy. Earlier this year, an analysis conducted by VoteWatch (an independent non-profit organisation) showed that is the most influential Belgian MEP as regards European digital and telecoms policy. Prior to this role, Anneleen Van Bossuyt was responsible for European affairs at the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA) research department. In this role she was very closely involved in the federal government negotiations in 2014. Before becoming a politician, she was as an assistant at the European Institute of the Faculty of Law at Ghent University. Mrs Van Bossuyt graduated in European Law from the University of Rennes, France in 2004.
