With Malta becoming the next incumbent in the Presidency cycle, the Maltese Environment Attaches Edward Vernon and Anton Spiteri Shaw will provide a broad presentation on Malta's priorities in the Environment policy area as well as a flavour of the files they intend to prioritise.

Edward Vernon joined the Permanent Representation of Malta to the European Union as an Environment Attaché in June 2012. He follows a number of thematic dossiers, including waste, water and air quality. During the Maltese Presidency he will be one of the Chairs of the Working Party on the Environment and shall also be coordinating the Permanent Representation’s environment and climate change team.

Anton Spiteri Shaw joined the Environment unit as Environment Attaché in the Maltese Permanent Representation in May 2015. He previously worked in the European Parliament covering a number of policy areas. He currently follows nature and biodiversity issues as well as sustainable development. Additionally he covers a number of horizontal issues including the greening of the European Semester and environmental planning issues.
