Impacts of Digitalisation on the EU Financial Services Policy

Please note that this is a task force briefing. You will have 20 minutes at the end of the briefing to suggest ideas of speakers and topics and be able to shape the EU Committee agenda. Mr Peter Kerstens, Adviser at DG FISMA will guide us through the impacts of digitalisation on the EU financial services policy, following the Commission's action plan from March 2017 to strenghten the EU single market for retail financial services.

Overview of e-privacy regulation with Birgit Sippel MEP

Birgit Sippel has just been appointed rapporteur on the e-Privacy regulation, taking over from Marju Lauristin. At this event she will provide an overview of where the legislation now stands with the first draft being released in June 2017.She will also cover how she envisions the ePrivacy Regulation working in coordination with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is set to be implemented in May 2018.
