1.    THE 2012 PROGRAMME AND HOW TO REGISTER

2.    ABOUT THE TRIP

Join the BNG on their second annual visit to the European Parliament in Strasbourg on 19 - 20 November 2012, to better understand how the Parliament’s monthly trip to Strasbourg works, how to work with MEPs and assistants and operate effectively as an interest representative. The trip is structured around:

•    A welcome dinner with an MEP.
•    A half-day training programme based around three panel sessions.
•    A tour of the European Parliament.

2.    RATIONALE

There is no formal ‘guide to Strasbourg’ and going for the first time can be daunting. The visit prepares young professionals for visits to Strasbourg, help them to develop the knowledge, skills and contacts necessary for their careers in the EU Affairs environment. Through discussion and debate with different stakeholders, the sessions provide snapshots of the Parliament’s work in practice.
Last year’s participants said that they felt more confident working with the Parliament in Strasbourg and that they were able to use the insights and apply what they had learned back in their offices in Brussels.
