Andreas Schwab

European Parliament

Andreas Schwab has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2004, and serves in the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO), dealing with the regulatory laws within the Single Market. POLITICO has recently ranked him as one of the 20 most influential members of the European Parliament. He is also a substitute member of the committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON). Additionally, Schwab is a member of the presidency of the European Peoples Party parliamentary group and he has been elected as spokesperson on internal market and consumer protection of his parliamentary group for four times since 2007. Mr Schwab is a member of the European Council on Foreign Relations, a member of the Transatlantic Policy Network and a board member of the Franco-German Institute, Ludwigsburg. He also serves as a member of the advisory council of the Freiburg University. He is teaching European Law at Düsseldorf University. He graduated from the Freiburg University, the Institut d’Etudes Politiques and the University of Wales as a lawyer. Mr Schwab holds a degree as doctor in law. He had a Chevening scholarship of the British Council as well as a scholarship of the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation.
