Stephen Russell has been Secretary-General of ANEC since January 2007. Stephen has participated in countless political and technical fora related to standardisation and standards over almost 30 years. He was a board member of ICPHSO (the International Consumer Product Health & Safety Organisation) for the 2010 to 2015 term. In January 2004, Stephen become Director, Standards in the CEN Management Centre, Brussels. Before this he was elected Vice-Chair of the CEN Technical Board in January 2003. In March 1989, Stephen joined the British Standards Institution (BSI). He was appointed Head of Technical Policy in 1998, a role where his responsibilities included representation of the UK in the Technical Boards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). Stephen holds a Master of Arts degree in applied economics from the University of St Andrews (Scotland).
